Logistics Centre in Nobding

• Main Building with 2'380 m2 area in which are accommodated
     - Ambient short time storage for potatoes 1'400 m2
     - Cold room long time storage for potatoes and warm up room 340 m2
     - Handling and offices 640 m2, where the potatoes are delivered, weighed, graded, bagged and delivered
• Processing Building with 350 m2 area for the processing of chillies and other goods
• Potato Chips production unit (under planning)
• Toilet Facilities
• Guard House

Logistics Centre Construction

• Construction works started in January 2016
• Scheduled finishing date is end of June 2017
• The civil construction work is carried out by Udee Construction of Bhumthang
• The pre-fabricated steel structure work is carried out by Trilok of Siliguri, India
• The cold storage work is carried by NSS (Natural Storage Solutions) of Rajkot, India
• The equipment needed for the operation of the centre stems from various companies, mainly Indian ones

Potato flow from farmers onwards

• Nob Bhutan Farmers is working closely with several farmer groups in the Phobjikha valley. After harvest the farmers bring the potatoes to the farm gate, where the potatoes are weighed and the farmers are paid in cash on an advanced fixed rate
• Nob is collecting the potatoes at the far gate and transporting them to Nobding to the Nob Logistic Center. There the potatoes go through a quality check and are then graded in different sizes according to the market need
• After packaging and labeling, the potatoes are either stored in the storage or sent directly to the Indian or Bhutanese customer
